SPPO Board Meeting
Wednesday, September 11th, 7:30 am
All parents are invited to attend the monthly board meetings of the Scottsdale Prep Parent Organization.
Meetings are held from August through May at 7:30 am on the second Wednesday of each month. The September meeting is on Wednesday, September 11th, in the Tech Lab .
The hour-long meetings review committee activities and funding requests.
We are happy to announce the new addition of Someburros Mexican Food coming in October! You will find lots of yummy items from this favorite Valley Mexican restaurant. Please note some new menu additions to: Capriotti’s, Chick-fil-A and Pita Jungle.
We also hope you are enjoying the selections from Angelo’s Italian Ice & Gelato. Italian Ice contains NO DAIRY, NO CHOLESTEROL AND NO FAT! Angelo’s Italian Ice is made with 100% fruit juice and contains fiber, calcium, and vitamin C. It meets the dietary guidelines of the states recommended fruit per child.
A big thank you goes out to all of our lovely lead volunteers moms, who show up tirelessly to hand out lunches to our hungry students every week and to all of the new volunteers who have been so kind in volunteering their time.
To volunteer, please sign up at Lunch Volunteer. For more info about the lunch program, please click Lunch Program.

SPPO Agora Market Now Open
Even though it may seem that school just started, Fall Break is right around the corner. According to the Scottsdale Prep Uniform Code, all boys will be required to wear long pants starting after Fall Break on October 21th, 2013 until the beginning of Spring Break on March 7th, 2014.
The good news is that we have an ample supply of boy’s and men’s pants. They will be readily available every Tuesday from 2:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. at Agora, a Parent Organization Market and Gathering Place, located by the interior entrance to the Multipurpose room. You may also bring in uniform donations then or leave them with the front office anytime they are open.
Furthermore, even though SPA crest car magnets and decals are available at Agora, you can also pick up an order form at anytime in the front lobby of the school by the Parent Organization rack.
Also with the advent of Fall Break, Anton Uniforms will no longer be offering the patch iron-on service for $7. This was a very gracious option that they provided us in our transition. Please let Anton Uniforms know how much you appreciate its noble efforts.
If you have any questions, please contact Sharon Walther at SchoolUniformSale@scottsdalepreppo.org

Tom’s Thumb Market
(around the corner from school)
The Teacher Appreciation Committee hosts monthly luncheons in honor of our dedicated faculty and staff, and we need your help! You don’t have to be Martha Stewart to serve on this committee…everyone can help…bakers, working moms and dads, decorators…. whether to bring plasticware, beverages, ice or take out entrees, or if you wish to get in touch with your inner-Martha, décor, tablescapes and abundant entrees and desserts!
It is a TON of fun, and we promise you will meet the nicest people, so please join us for our initial planning meeting at Tom’s Thumb (just around the corner from school) immediately following drop off around 8am THIS FRIDAY, September 13th. If you cannot make it to the meeting, but would like to be kept in the loop, please email us at Teacherappreciation@scottsdalepreppo.org.

Neighborhood Community Relations
Most of us aren’t thrilled with waiting in line to pick up our children, but imagine if you were a neighboring business, and you needed to make it to your office for an important phone call……on an early release day – - – not great, right? That is why we want to express our most sincere appreciation to all of our neighboring businesses for their patience as our families got settled into the new academic year. And, a VERY special thanks to the many neighbors who offered the use of their parking for Curriculum Night!
This is a privilege and a courtesy extended to us that may very well be denied in the future if we don’t reciprocate and be good neighbors, so please refrain from parking in ANY of our neighboring lots unless we have specifically communicated that they have agreed to allow parking during an after-hours event.
Special thanks to our neighbor Matrixx, who offered to donate two scientific incubators for our science labs! And please do check out the many wonderful businesses in our area; within a stone’s throw, you can find help with home décor, design, real estate, HVAC service and repair, facials, gorgeous kiosks, and many other services, so please do visit our neighbors for THAT reason!
